Dry and wet rising mains are intended for use by the Glasgows fire brigades
or other trained personnel.
Glasgows very own fire prevention company has been install dry risers for a number of years now. Fire Risers provide a easily accessible means of delivering considerable quantities of
water to extinguish or prevent the spread of fire.
Dry risers are vertical mains fitted into staircase enclosures
or other suitable positions, with outlet valves on each floor and inlets fitted
at ground level to enable the Glasgows Local fire brigades to connect to the water
supply.
Wet risers are pipes kept permanently charged with water either
from a storage tank (via a booster pump) or direct from the town's main water supply.

Glasgows local
fire brigades to ensure there rewuirements are met and they can
easily access the Dry or wet riser.
Buildings over 18m tall will have either wet risers or dry risers. Buildings over 50m
tall will have wet risers.
AL Fire Systems can offer a full Wet or Dry Riser installation to BS 9990: 2006 anywhere
in the UK. Our Glasgow Engineers have many years experience and on completion the system
would be hydraulic tested a flow test if required full certification will be given.
